the color of there seen from here, the color of where you are not
A participatory project initiated by Viola Arduini

the color of there seen from here, the color of where you are not is a collective reflection and a relational exploration of migratory movements, of relationships with place, and of impossible desires.

Sparked from Viola’s experience as an immigrant in times of closed borders, she invites others to collaboratively investigate what longing and belonging mean, exploring the liminal, connected forces of being-here-and-not-being-there at once. As the Covid pandemic still sweeps the planet, new kinds of movements and stillnesses have arisen, a new awareness of where we are not, of staying still, of longing the blue of distance.

Intended as a research lab, the exhibition space will contain contributions of invited artists and creatives in an uncategorized archive for be/longing. As artist and initiator, Viola will bring together the elements with immersive installations connecting the more-than-human movements of migratory birds: a planetary breath beyond human movements, borders, pandemics, and restrictions. The audience and community members will be invited to add their object, stories and reflections on be/longing.
